CINCINNATI, OH — Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) is accepting applications for its 2026 Citizens Water Academy, which will have NEW dates and be held in AUGUST this year.

Sessions will be held on August 1, August 4, August 11, August 18, and August 25.

This year's five-session program provides an insider's perspective on all aspects of the water utility -- one of the most innovative municipal water systems in the nation -- and features tours of important facilities that are rarely open to the public.

Citizens Water Academy engages and educates the community on issues related to providing water service and introduces participants to the complexities of water management and operations. Subject-matter experts will demonstrate various processes ranging from laboratory testing to water main repair.
Topics covered include GCWW’s history and growth, drinking water treatment and distribution, water quality testing, barrier dam operation, stormwater management, meter reading, lead pipe replacement, and more.

For more information, or if you are interested in learning how GCWW provides safe, clean drinking water from source to tap, are 21 years or older, live or work in GCWW’s service area, and can commit to attending all five sessions, please apply online at WaterAcademy.myGCWW.orgor email WaterAcademy@gcww.cincinnati-oh.gov.
