Freeman Avenue to Close on Saturday -- Temporary Closure Needed for Floodgate Installation

Greater Cincinnati Water Works’ Stormwater Management Utility will be conducting a trial installation of a floodgate on Freeman Avenue on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

The testing will require the temporary closure of Freeman Avenue to all through traffic just north of Mehring Way and immediately south of the entrance and exit ramps to the Sixth Street Expressway (U.S. Route 50).

Local access will be maintained during the floodgate’s installation, but a posted detour will direct through traffic around the closure.

The road closure will begin at 7 a.m. The detour should be removed and traffic in the area restored by 5 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed and use caution when approaching the closure area.
