GCP Seeds of Change Grant Program awards over $200,000 in this year's Open Call

Jun 25, 2026

For the third year in a row, resident leaders are bringing the Green Cincinnati Plan to life in real time through GCP Seeds of Change funded projects. This summer, the 14 newly awarded projects will launch involving and reaching residents in 23 Cincinnati neighborhoods, most of which are hit hardest by the effects of climate change. Residents of all ages will engage in restoring habitats, learning hands on about green jobs, building rainwater catchment systems, reducing food waste, planting gardens, training bike mechanics, and installing solar to increase community benefits. These projects, and many more, are in motion thanks to the Green Cincinnati Plan Seeds of Change Grant Program, an initiative led by the City’s Office of Environment and Sustainability, that provides funding for community-initiated projects that activate the Green Cincinnati Plan's priorities. Learn more about the recently awarded projects here.

This is the first round of 2026, with $204,775 co-funded by the City of Cincinnati, the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, and Duke Energy Foundation. This brings the total awards for the grant program since its inception three years ago to an amazing $914,226 in investments in 173 projects reaching residents of 47 neighborhoods.
