Youth Voices for Regional Climate Action Plan

The City of Cincinnati is a member of Thrive Together, a regional group of local governments, non-profits, and businesses addressing climate change by creating a regional Comprehensive Climate Action Plan. The Comprehensive Climate Action Plan will be reflective of residents' perspectives on the environmental issues the region faces and potentials solutions to solve these issues. To understand residents' perspective, Thrive Together undertook a community engagement effort targeting different demographic groups; OES collaborated with Green Umbrella to engage young people in the climate action planning process. GCP Seeds of Change Youth Climate Action Grants

Thanks to Bloomberg Philanthropies' Youth Climate Action Fund, OES has recently announced the grantees for the GCP Seeds of Change Youth Climate Action grants. Youth-led and youth-serving organizations applied for funding ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to support new and actionable sustainability projects in Cincinnati. OES is also planning a second round of youth-led grants soon and encourages young people to get involved in brainstorming project ideas. Stay tuned for the next round of grants coming soon!
