City of Cincinnati Announces $60,000 in Grants to Support Green Workforce Development

Sep 02, 2025

CINCINNATI — The City of Cincinnati’s Office of Environment & Sustainability (OES) today announced the launch of the 2025 Green Workforce Development Grant Round through the Green Cincinnati Plan’s Seeds of Change Program.

This grant round, funded by a $60,000 private foundation award, will provide grants of $10,000–$30,000 to organizations advancing green workforce training and education initiatives. At least two organizations will be awarded funding.

“The Green Cincinnati Plan identified access to quality, green jobs as a top cross cutting theme. This grant round is an investment in people—helping residents gain the skills they need to thrive in the transition to the green economy,” said Thanapat Vichitchot, FUSE Executive Fellow, who is leading Green Workforce initiatives on behalf of the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Environment & Sustainability.

Eligible projects may include expanding training capacity, enhancing or launching green job programs, or reducing barriers for trainees, such as stipends, scholarships, or supportive services. Preference will be given to initiatives serving disadvantaged neighborhoods and pathways leading to quality, in-demand green occupations.
