New feature offers customers a convenient, flexible, and personalized way to set up payment plans for past-due charges.

Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) has partnered with Promise Network Inc. (PromisePay) for payment plan processing, which will provide customers an easy and convenient way to set up payment plans for past-due charges. Customers will not be charged transaction fees for this service. The new feature will be available to GCWW customers beginning August 9, 2021.

“The intent of this partnership is to enhance the payment process making it more convenient, flexible, and personalized,” said GCWW Executive Director, Cathy Bernardino Bailey. “We have seen in other markets that having more flexible payment plans increased payment plan success up to 90%. This will help customers more with their payments, particularly given the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and will also provide GCWW with an alternative process to receive payments and continue supplying our valued customers with the safe and high-quality water they have been accustomed to.” 

The PromisePay Portal will offer the opportunity to select a payment plan option, set-up automatic payments (via e-check, credit/debit, and/or cash apps such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo), and provide contact information for payment reminders and other notifications through text messaging. Both property owners and tenants will be eligible to use the Promise Pay Portal.

Customers who have an active payment plan on their GCWW account(s) and keep up with their current charges will be removed from the delinquency process.

The PromisePay Portal provides a comprehensive payment platform, which includes:

• Options to enroll to set up payment plans online, mobile phone, or call center
• Convenient payment types (credit/debit card, ACH, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo)
• Text reminders and notifications
• Payment flexibility and plan management with options to request a one-time due-date extension, modify due dates, and change payment methods.
