Starting the afternoon of Thursday, August 20, through the afternoon of Sunday, August 23 the following road and sidewalk closures will be in place:

• William Howard Taft Road between 1905 William Howard Taft Road and East McMillan Street;
• Collins Avenue between William Howard Taft Road and the underside of the US Route 50/Columbia Parkway overpass;
• Taft Road Lane and Heatherhill Lane.
• Westbound Riverside Drive between Leblond Recreation Center and Collins Avenue (due to ongoing construction). 

Drivers are encouraged to use Torrence Parkway, Madison Road, and Woodburn Avenue as a detour while the closures are in place.

Residents who live within the area where roads are closed will be able to access their neighborhood through one of three, marked security checkpoints. Checkpoints will be located at:

• William Howard Taft Road and Torrence Parkway
• William Howard Taft Road and E McMillan Street
• PEDESTRIAN ENTRY ONLY: Collins Ave and Gladstone Ave

Residents should expect to encounter law enforcement at these checkpoints. Please factor in extra time when traveling as a result of these security measures. Delivery trucks and other commercial services delivering to addresses in those neighborhoods may use those checkpoints, as well.
