Parts of Race & Findlay Streets to Close for Track Installation this week
The Findlay Market area of Race Street between McMicken and Elder and the intersection of Findlay Street at Race will close for three weeks beginning Monday, Oct. 27, so crews may install track for the Cincinnati Streetcar.
Access to Findlay Market and all its parking lots will be maintained throughout the closure, which ends Friday, Nov. 14.
Race Street will be closed at McMicken but local access maintained.
Motorists will be detoured south on Vine to Elder back to Race. Elder will be temporarily converted to one-way west. Findlay Street will be closed between McMicken and Elm.
Local access to the Findlay Market north parking lot will be maintained via Findlay Street.
Detour signs will be posted to help guide motorists around the work site. All pedestrian access will be maintained.
Additional work will continue in the area until mid December, requiring lane restrictions. Paving on Elm & Race is scheduled to finish Saturday, Oct. 25.

Progress Last Week:

Crews perform a thermite weld on Walnut Street. This process is used to weld two pieces of rail together.

Crews perform hydrodemolition on 2nd Street at The Banks. This process uses water to excavate the trench for the rail that will be installed on 2nd Street without damaging the bridge structures.

Crews also performed final pavement restoration on Elm Street, providing a new, smooth road surface.
