Due to brutally cold temperatures forecasted for our area, the City of Cincinnati is activating the extreme winter weather daytime shelter at St. Anthony Center this Sunday, Dec. 14 and Monday, Dec. 15. This year, we are partnering with St. Francis Seraph Ministries to host the extreme winter weather daytime shelter at the St. Anthony Center located at 1615 Republic Street in Over-the-Rhine. St. Anthony Center already provides daily breakfast, bagged lunch, and hot dinners to people at their location and are well acquainted with the patrons of the winter shelter.  The shelter provides:

  • Safety from winter conditions from 6am-7pm
  • Free bus transportation to/from the overnight Winter Shelter at 411 Gest Street
  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
  • Onsite services from community mental health partners
  • Blankets, hats, and scarves
  • Pet services for people experiencing homelessness with their pets

Cincinnati Recreation Commission recreation centers also function as warming centers during normal operating hours for anyone who may be seeking refuge from cold weather this season. You can find CRC rec center locations and hours here.
