Revive Cincinnati: Neighborhoods of the Lower Mill Creek Valley Plan Update
Project Description
In 2011, the City of Cincinnati worked with Urban Design Associates (UDA) and a team of consultants on the Revive Cincinnati: Neighborhoods of the Lower Mill Creek Valley plan. The plan explored connectivity and development potential in four areas along the I-75 corridor:
-
Mitchell Avenue
-
Northside/South Cumminsville
-
Hopple Street/Camp Washington
-
Queensgate/West End/Downtown
Since 2011, the I-75 interchange improvements have been complete at Mitchell Avenue and I-74, and the preferred alignments and designs have been fixed for the Brent Spence Bridge and Western Hills Viaduct improvements. Neighborhood plans have been updated and many projects have been completed.
The City has hired UDA, supported by SB Friedman and Blume Community Partners, to update the Revive Cincinnati plan with the input and engagement of the neighborhoods and communities surrounding the I-75 corridor.
This Revive Cincinnati Update will focus on:
-
Reconnecting walking and biking connections between and within neighborhoods
-
Planning for development opportunities on unused or remnant ODOT land
-
Bringing positive economic development to the neighborhoods adjacent to I-75 as a result of the improvements
-
Identifying priorities for future investments
We hope residents, business owners, and community organizations will participate to guide the future of these communities.
