Proposed TIF Funds for MadTree Coal Boiler Remediation
Proposed Project
The MadTree Brewing Coal Boiler Remediation project is the proposed use of TIF funds to demolish a coal boiler on the MadTree property located at 3301 Madison Road. If passed, MadTree would receive a $75,000 grant award from the Oakley TIF District to support remediation of a coal boiler. The total cost of this project is estimated to be $225,000. Through the assistance of the Port, MadTree received a $150,000 State Brownfield Remediation Grant from the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) helping to offset of the cost of the removal of the coal boiler. At its April 4 meeting, Oakley Community Council voted on and unanimously approved support for the use of $75,000 in TIF funds for the coal boiler remediation and demolition project. This item will be presented to the City Council for review and consideration.
