Public Engagement Session for the Findlay Community and Recreation Center

Background:

In late 2020, the City of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC) requested that 3CDC take the lead in the redevelopment of four CRC-controlled properties in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood: Findlay Playground, Grant Park, Over-the-Rhine Recreation Center, and the Elm Street pocket park. The initial community engagement phase began in May of 2021. In April of 2022, a public engagement session was held to consider $450,000 of Tax Incremental Financing Fund for four locations Findlay Playground,1811 Vine Street, Grant Park, 73 E. McMicken Avenue, OTR Rec Center, 1715 Republic Street and Elm Street Pocket Park, 1814-1822 Elm Street.

Proposed Project:

The next phase of the project includes adding the North Vine Street Streetscape to the project and advancing the design to a level of detail to obtain cost estimates. Continued community engagement and site programming for each of the sites will also be a part of the phase. To do this, City Council will consider an economic incentive of $1,748,000 from the East Downtown or West Downtown Tax Incremental Financing District fund.
