Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program


WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children. It is a special supplemental nutrition and education program for eligible women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum and infants & children up to age 5.
 
WIC provides:
  • Nutrition education: Healthy eating ideas, assessment and classes from a registered dietitian, Farmers Market Nutrition Program and referral assistance
  • Breastfeeding support: Help from lactation specialists, classes and pumps
  • Nutritious foods such as milk, fruit juices, eggs, cereals, fruits & vegetables, whole grains (pasta, bread, rice, tortillas) and peanut butter or beans
  • Infant formula may be provided if needed as a supplement to breastfeeding or if breastfeeding is not an option.


Eligibility

Must be a pregnant or postpartum woman or have children under the age of 5 years and meet income guidelines (below).
