SPECIAL SESSION: Cincinnati City Council
Cincinnati City Council has scheduled a Special Meeting on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 2:15 p.m., to be held at Cincinnati City Hall, Council Chambers, Room 300, 801 Plum Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
The purpose of this meeting will be to receive information from the City Administration regarding COVID-19-related operational and budgetary impacts and to discuss and take action on COVID-19-related budgetary items, including but not limited to items related to appropriating federal funds and otherwise granting necessary authority to the City Administration to be able to utilize available funds to address the COVID-19 epidemic. City Council will also consider and take action on any other COVID-19-related items referred from Committee or otherwise referred to City Council, including a motion to suspend streetcar operations for 90 days due to the COVID-19 public health crisis.
City Council will also consider and take action on an ordinance requesting that the Hamilton County Budget Commission approve the City’s request for use of an alternate method of calculating and apportioning the Local Government Fund, as authorized by ORC Sec. 5747.53. City Council will also consider and take action on a motion from Councilmember Sittenfeld’s office regarding Councilmember Kearney’s committee appointments. City Council will also consider and take action on a motion and related ordinance to change all Council meetings back to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. City Council shall also consider and take action on a motion to cancel the Council meeting currently scheduled for 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1st.
The Council Calendar will also include copies of recently issued Emergency Orders related to the COVID-19 public health emergency, Councilmember Kearney’s investiture documents, a memo appointing Vice Mayor Smitherman as the chair of the Economic Growth and Zoning Committee, liquor application communications to the ODLC regarding “A Fish is a Permit LLC” and “Endadesta LLC,” and copies of e-mailed public comments received by the Clerk of Council from previous Council meetings at which the public was restricted from attending due to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Due to issues reasonably connected to Ohio Department of Health orders or guidance concerning COVID-19, members of City Council may be required to participate remotely. The manner of remote participation shall otherwise comply with all requirements of the Open Meetings Act. In accordance with the “Emergency Order/Council and Committees” order issued by Mayor Cranley during this time of public emergency, this meeting is closed to the public. City Council will also consider and take action on the Council items listed on the attached Council Calendar.
