Little Miami Scenic Trail: Beechmont Bridge Connection

The Little Miami Scenic Trail (LMST) currently spans five counties, extending 78 miles from Springfield, Ohio, to Anderson Township in southwestern Ohio.

Great Parks of Hamilton County worked with the City of Cincinnati and IBI Group to design the final phase of the LMST. This last trail segment will close the gap between the existing 78 mile long LMST and three trails in southwestern Ohio: the Lunken Loop, the Ohio River Trail, and the Armleder Trail.

This project will include a bridge over the Little Miami Scenic River, a retaining wall underneath the bridge, and a tunnel under the State Route 32 westbound ramp to Beechmont Avenue.

Construction began in spring 2021 with project completion expected in summer 2022. The project has received a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant in the amount of $4.3M, which will provide 80% of the funding for the $5.4M project.
