  • Request a repair or replacement of a broken green recycling cart.

More Information:

  • Common areas of damage on green recycling carts include broken grab bars, broken hinge pins, cracked body or lids, or as indicated on a damage tag. 
  • You may continue place recyclables in the cart if there is room when you set the cart out for repair/replacement.
  • Note: The recycling cart repair/replacement crew is separate from the recycling collection crew. The recycling cart repair/replacement crew may arrive during the non-recycling week or after recycling has been collected on the street.

Process:

  • 311 will route your request to the Office of Environment and Sustainability.
  • After requesting, please place the damaged cart at the curb the night before the next TRASH collection day and leave it in place until a repair or replacement is completed.
