Parking, Abandoned in Street, Junk Vehicle
Service Request Type:
- Vehicle, ROW Junk/Aban
Used to:
- Report a vehicle that is parked in a legal space, on the street, but that is abandoned and not in a drivable condition (sometimes referred to as a junk vehicle). This includes vehicles with one or more flat tires or significant damage. This is sometimes described as an abandoned vehicle, but what is key is that the vehicle is not drivable.
- Is it abandoned, but also parked in violation (e.g., blocking a hydrant, parked in violation of signs)? Call us. An additional violation can be addressed more quickly.

Routes to:
- Cincinnati Police Department (CPD)
District-Level Neighborhood Liaison Unit (NLU)
More Information:
- Each police district has an NLU that handles this and other neighborhood concerns.
- This request is used to handle a vehicle that has been abandoned in the right-of-way, and is considered:
- A "nuisance junk motor vehicle" in violation of Cincinnati Municipal Code, Chapter 758.
- An "abandoned junk motor vehicle" in violation of Ohio Revised Code 4513.64.
Process:
- Depending on the violation, this is a multi-step process that is not resolved on the same day it is reported.
- Typically, an NLU police officer will investigate on a future business day and must leave a notice for the vehicle owner. Time must then be given to see if the vehicle is moved. On a return visit by the officer, if the vehicle has not moved, it is towed. Once this process is complete, the officer will close the 311 Service Request.
- Internally, this process is defined by CPD Procedure 12.275.
