  • Report an issue with an elevator on a residential property. These issues can include but are not limited to: expired license, permit violation, unsafe door, unexpected drops, stops between floors, stops without warning, and elevator door issues, or the doors opening between floors.

Process:

  • The request will be received by a building inspector the next business day. Based on the complaint information, an inspector may respond sooner. If a code violation(s) is found during the investigation, the inspector will take code enforcement action as needed such as issuing an order to the owner or person in control to correct the violations. 

Safety information:

  • If you or others are trapped in an elevator, call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to exit an elevator that is stuck between two floors. Call 911 right away for assistance.
