9th & Main Intersection to Close This Weekend for Track Work

This weekend, construction crews will be installing trackwork through the intersection of 9^th and Main Streets.  9^th Street will be closed at Main starting Friday, May 15 at 7:00pm until Monday, May 18 at 6:00am.

Block by Block Construction –May 11-17, 2015

MAIN STREET:

• At 2^nd:    TPSS #1 concrete work, traffic control conduit work, Stop #1 power work (1 week remaining)
• 3^rd to 6^th: potholing and pavement restoration (2 weeks remaining)
• 4^th to 6^th: traffic control conduit work (1 week remaining)
• 6^th to 7^th: storm sewer work (1 week remaining)
• 7^th to 8^th:  OCS foundations (2 weeks remaining)
• 8^th to 9^th:  track concrete base work, rail installation ( 2 weeks remaining);  pavement removal (1 week remaining)
• 9^th to Court:  track concrete base work, rail installation (1 week remaining)
• Court to 12th:  Stop #5A concrete work (2 weeks remaining), OCS foundations (1 week remaining)
• At 12^th:  OCS foundations (1 week remaining)

 

 WALNUT STREET:

• 2^nd to 3^rd:  OCS pole setting, rail installation (1 week remaining)
• 3^rd to 4th:  OCS pole setting ( 1 week remaining),  track concrete base work (2 weeks remaining)
• 4^th to 6^th:  OCS pole setting (2 weeks remaining)
• 6^th to 7^th:   sidewalk pavers to be restored (1 week remaining)

 

RACE STREET:

• Henry to Glass Alley:  signal/snowmelter cabinet installation (3 weeks remaining);  asphalt milling & grinding (1 week remaining), asphalt surface course (2 weeks remaining) 
• At 12^th:  Signal/snowmelter cabinet installation (3 weeks remaining)
• At Central Parkway: asphalt milling & grinding (1 week remaining), asphalt surface course (2 weeks remaining) 

 

12^th STREET:

• Elm to Main:  traffic signage installation (1 week remaining), asphalt surface course (1 week remaining)

 

• At Race:  OCS span wire installation (1 week remaining)

 

• At Elm:  OCS span wire installation (1 week remaining)

 

CENTRAL PARKWAY:

• Race to Walnut:  : asphalt milling & grinding, asphalt surface course (1 week remaining) 

• Race to Vine: traffic signal work (2 weeks remaining)

 

PROGRESS LAST WEEK:

Crews install OCS poles on Walnut Street near 4^th. 

12^th Street at Vine is repaved to a nice, smooth finish. 

Crews lay track through the intersection of 3^rd and Walnut.

There are still several components to install and a lot of testing to perform, but things are moving along in Elmira as the vehicle production continues.
