6^th and Main to Close for Track Crossing This Week

6th Street at Main will be closed for trackwork this weekend starting Friday, June 26 at 7:00pm through Monday, June 29 at 6:00am.  Detours will be posted.

As the summer bicycling season gets into full swing, remember to Be Streetcar Safe around streetcar tracks when riding a bicycle on City streets. 

Streetcars share the road with cyclists, but streetcar tracks can pose some special challenges for bikes. Streetcar tracks can be slippery when wet, and sometimes bike tires can get caught in the gap next to the rail.

Cyclists should be alert and use caution when riding near streetcars and streetcar tracks. Try to cross streetcar tracks at as close to a right angle as possible.  

The streetcar team is working with Cincy Red Bike to let riders know the best way to cross streetcar tracks on a bicycle.  Look for stickers on Red Bikes around town letting you know to “Cross Tracks at 90 Degrees.”
