Construction resumes this week after Thanksgiving holiday

Construction on the Cincinnati Streetcar resumes this week after the Thanksgiving holiday.  In addition to installing track on Main and Walnut near the Banks this week, crews will continue installation of overhead brackets and arms on OCS poles which will ultimately hold the overhead wire that will power the streetcar.  

Duke crews continue work on electrical manholes in Main Street, and sitework at the Maintenance and Operations Facility is also continuing this week.

MAIN STREET

  • At 2nd: milling of existing structural decks (2 weeks remaining);
  • 2nd to 3rd: TPSS#1 foundations (3 weeks remaining)
  • 3rd to 4th: track concrete base work (2 weeks remaining); rail installation (1 week remaining); Duke Energy electrical manhole work (1 week remaining)
  • At 5th: Duke Energy electrical manhole work (2 weeks remaining)
  • 5th to 6th: Duke Energy electrical manhole work (4 weeks remaining)
  • At 6th: Duke Energy gas pavement restoration (1 week remaining)
  • 6th to 7th:  Water main installation (1 week remaining)
  • At 8th: Duke Energy gas pavement restoration (1 week remaining)
  • 8th to 9th:  Water main installation (1 week remaining)

WALNUT STREET

  • At 2nd: Milling of existing structural decks (2 weeks remaining)
  • 6th to 7th: concrete work at Stop #16 (1 week remaining)
  • At Central Parkway: At 6th: OCS pole foundations, traffic control conduit installation & rehab (1 week remaining)

ELM STREET

  • 12th to 14th: OCS pole installation  (2 weeks remaining)
  • 14th to Findlay: Time Warner Cable overhead telecomm work (1 week remaining)
  • Findlay to Henry:  OCS bracket arms (2 weeks remaining)

RACE STREET

  • At 12th: Curb & sidewalk restoration (2 weeks remaining)
  • At 13th: Milling of asphalt (1 week remaining)
  • 14th to 15th: Time Warner Cable underground and overhead telecomm work (1 week remaining)
  • Liberty to Henry: Time Warner Cable underground and overhead telecomm work (1 week remaining)
  • Glass Alley to Sellew Alley:  track concrete base work (2 weeks remaining); Rail installation (3 weeks remaining); curb & sidewalk restoration (2 weeks remaining)

Progress Last Week:

TPSS #1 platform

These pillars are being constructed in the Riverfront Transit Center under 2nd Street and will serve as the base for the platform which will hold TPSS #1.  

Walnut FWW track

Track is in stalled in the trench along the Walnut Street bridge over Fort Washington Way.     

Main FWW track

Crews also installed track on the Main Street FWW bridge last week.  

OCS arms

Crews installed the first brackets and arms on OCS poles last week.  These arms will hold the overhead contact wire which will transmit power to the streetcar vehicles.  

TPSS #2

TPSS #2 was installed last week at the corner of Court and Walnut Streets.
