Streetcar Progress Update: August 3, 2015

Intersection of 5^th and Main Street to Close for Trackwork This Weekend

The intersection of 5^th and Main Streets will be closed from 7:00pm, Friday, August 7 until 7:00 am, Monday, August 10 so crews may install track for the Cincinnati Streetcar. Detours will be posted.

Block by Block Construction –August 3-9, 2015

MAIN STREET:

• At 2^nd:  testing at TPSS (1 week remaining)
• 4^th to 5^th:  Excavation & preparation for track slab, track concrete base work, rail installation (1 week remaining)
• 6^th to 8^th:  traffic signal work (2 weeks remaining)
• 8^th to 9^th:  sidewalk and ramp restoration (1 week remaining)
• Court to 12^th:  concrete work at Stop #5 (3 weeks remaining)
• At 12^th:  OCS wires, cross spans, and brackets (1 week remaining)

 

 WALNUT STREET:

• 2^nd to 3^rd:  crosswalk infill, traffic signal work (2 weeks remaining)
• 4^th to 5th:  sidewalk, ramp, and paver restoration (2 weeks remaining)
• 9^th to Central Parkway:  TPSS testing (1 week remaining)
• At Central Parkway:  OCS wires, cross spans, and brackets (1 week remaining)

 

RACE STREET:

• At 12^th:  OCS wires, brackets & cross-spans will be installed (1 week remaining)

 

CENTRAL PARKWAY:

• Vine to Walnut:  OCS wires, brackets & cross-spans will be installed (1 week remaining)

 

PROGRESS LAST WEEK:

Crews finish new sidewalk installation in front of the garage exit on Walnut between 4th and 5th.  

Track installation on Main prepares to cross 4th Street.

On Main at Court, crews construct Station Stop #5.

Project team and staff from the City's engineering consultant inspect units at the CAF plant in Elmira, NY.  

In Elmira, Cincinnati Unit #2 is moved to a new location in the plant.
