Transdev Streetcar Operations Team Begins Work in Cincinnati

The Operations and Maintenance team from Transdev, the operator for the Cincinnati Streetcar, began work this week onsite.  General Manager John Claflin, Maintenance Manager Scott Archibald, and Transportation/Safety & Security Manager Phil Lind hit the ground running, meeting with the project’s Rail Activation Committee and joining the construction team in a walkthrough of the OTR Loop. 

Transdev’s team brings a wealth of streetcar and transit experience, working on rail projects in Houston, TX; Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Raleigh, NC; and New Orleans, LA to name a few.  Welcome to Cincinnati, John, Scott, and Phil!

 

Streetcar Stakeholders Meeting this Wednesday, August 12 at Christ Church

The next monthly Streetcar Stakeholders Meeting will be held this Wednesday, August 12 at 9:00am at Christ Church Cathedral, 318 E. 4^th Street.  Meetings are open to the public and are a great way to find out what’s happening with construction and what’s coming up this fall. 

 

Block by Block Construction –Aug 10-16, 2015

MAIN STREET:

• 4^th to 5^th:  track concrete base work, rail installation, removal of existing pavement (1 week remaining); OCS foundations (2 weeks remaining)
• 6^th to 8^th:  traffic signal work (2 weeks remaining)
• 8^th to 9^th:  OCS foundations ( 1 week remaining), concrete work at Stop #4 ( 3 weeks remaining)
• 9^th to Court:  paver restoration (2 weeks)
• Court to 12^th:  sidewalk and ramp restoration (1 week remaining
• At 12^th:  OCS wires, cross spans, and brackets (2 weeks remaining)

 

 WALNUT STREET:

• 4^th to 5th:  paver restoration (1 week remaining)
• At Central Parkway:  sidewalk and ramp restoration (1 week remaining)

 

RACE STREET:

• At 12^th & Race:  OCS wires, brackets & cross-spans (2 weeks remaining)
• At Central Parkway:  OCS wires, brackets & cross-spans (2 weeks remaining)

 

CENTRAL PARKWAY:

• Vine to Walnut:  OCS wires, brackets & cross-spans (2 weeks remaining)

Inside Music Hall, this Lego model of the streetcar was featured as part of the Music Hall model. 

The Transdev operations crew joined the design and construction teams for an inspection walkthrough of the OTR Loop.
