Advertising Vehicles Inc. to Sell Cincinnati Streetcar Station Naming Rights and Advertising

Jun 21, 2016

CINCINNATI – The company that’s responsible for the sales of advertising and naming rights on the Cincinnati Streetcar vehicles will now also be selling advertising and naming rights on streetcar station shelters and ticketing kiosks.

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority Board has approved a 10-year contract with Advertising Vehicles Inc. -- a local firm with a proven track record of transit advertising sales -- to handle the sale of advertising and naming rights for all 18 Cincinnati Streetcar stations. The revenue generated will be used for streetcar operations.

Advertising Vehicles will add electronic advertising panels to some of the streetcar stations as part of the contract.

“After the great response and interest we have received from the business community around advertising on the streetcar, we are excited to give companies the opportunity to extend their brand on streetcar shelters throughout downtown,”said L.V. Semona, Co-Founder & Director of Sales for Advertising Vehicles. “We have received several inquiries already and are anticipating very high demand on these one-of-a-kind advertising assets."

Advertising Vehicles -- which has the contract with SORTA to sell the naming rights and advertising on the Cincinnati Streetcar vehicles -- has sold about $224,000 in Cincinnati Streetcar advertising in advance of the Sept. 9 grand opening of the streetcar system.
