Cincinnati Bell Connector Wrap Celebrates BLINK Light & Art Festival
Feb 07, 2022
CINCINNATI – A new BLINK-themed Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar was unveiled Monday to coincide with news that the art, light and culture festival is returning this October.
Officials with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber highlighted the new streetcar wrap after announcing that BLINK is back and will take place Oct. 13 – 16, 2022. The chamber also introduced its executive director who will manage the event. BLINK was previously managed by a team at the chamber.
The City of Cincinnati owns the streetcar system. Cincinnati Bell bought naming rights at the time it began passenger service in 2016.
The exteriors of all five streetcars are being rewrapped to reflect an arts theme while maintaining the Cincinnati Bell Connector brand.
”The new arts theme is a fun way to showcase Cincinnati’s creativity,” said Travis Jeric, Streetcar Director. “It also provides a sense of distinctiveness for each of our streetcars.”
The BLINK design is the third streetcar to a don a new look. Designs for the remaining streetcars will be unveiled later this month.
The first streetcar to be rewrapped has a “Music Hall” theme. It unveiled last September to mark the system’s fifth anniversary. The second, new wrap was unveiled last week, the result of a design contest. Local artist Brent Billingsley’s “WE ARE ALL HUE-MAN” design celebrates diversity within the arts and in society as depicted in the faces of children incorporated onto the exterior of a streetcar.
