Downtown Streets to Close for Taste of Cincinnati Weekend

CINCINNATI – The 41st annual Taste of Cincinnati will take place again this year over Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27). In order to accommodate this event, the following streets will close on Friday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. and remain closed until Tuesday, May 28 at 5:00 a.m.:
- Fifth Street - closed between Main Street and Columbia Parkway
- Columbia Parkway - closed between Downtown and the Sixth Street ramp
- Sycamore Street - closed between Sixth Street and Fourth Street (access maintained to garages)
- Broadway - closed between Fourth Street and Sixth Street
- Broadway - converted to a temporary 2-way traffic pattern between Seventh Street and Sixth Street
- Sentinel Street - closed
- Lawrence Street - closed
- Fourth Street - converted to a temporary 2-way traffic pattern between Broadway and Pike Street
A marked detour will be in place directing motorists to northbound Interstate 71 and Interstate 471. Drivers are reminded to use caution around the event site.
These closures are in addition to the Taste of Cincinnati overlaps with the filming of American Ninja Warrior at The Banks. Please see the map below for additional information.
Beyond the food festival and TV show, there are two related races taking place during the extended holiday weekend that will require additional temporary road closures on Sunday and Monday.
To accomodate the inaugural Eat and Run 5K, the following streets will close Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and remain closed until about noon that day. These road closures are in addition to the ones listed above.
- Sentinel Street
- Eggleston Avenue southbound between Reedy Street and Riverside Drive
- Culvert Street between Third Street and New Street
- Butler Street north of Fifth Street
- Third Street between Pike Street and Eggleston Avenue (local access maintained)
- E. Pete Rose Way between Mehring Way and Eggleston Avenue
- Riverside Drive eastbound between Eggleston Avenue and Bains Street
- W. Fourth Street between Culvert Street and Eggleston Avenue
- W. Fifth Street between Culvert Street and Eggleston Avenue
On Monday, the Freestore Foodbank will host its annual Hunger Walk. The following streets will be closed from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m.
- Freedom Way between Elm Street and Rosa Parks Street (closes at 8 a.m.)
- Mehring Way westbound between Joe Nuxhall Way and Elm Street (closes at 8 a.m.)
- Second Street between I-75 and Race Street (Second Street exits closed from southbound 75, northbound 75 and eastbound 50)
- Elm Street south of Second Street
- Race Street south of Second Street (garage access maintained)
- Third Street eastbound between Gest Street and Central Avenue
- Mehring Way westbound between Elm Street and Smith Street
- W. Pete Rose Way between Central Avenue and Smith Street
- Clay Wade Bailey Bridge
Public Transportation
The Cincinnati Bell Connector will offfer Taste-goers an opportunity to park throughout the urban core and easily make their way down to Fifth Street. However, those planning to utilize streetcar should pay attention to schedule changes for the Cincinnati Bell Connector. Parking information is available on the City of Cincinnati website.
Additionally, as you make your travel plans, be aware that some Metro routes will operate on detour beginning Friday, May 24 at 6 p.m. and ending May 28 at 4 a.m.: 1, 4, 16, 27, 28, 49, 50 and 72. In observance of Memorial Day, Metro will operate on a holiday schedule on Monday, May 27. The following routes will detour due to events scheduled for Memorial Day: 31, 43 and 78.
