DAV 5K: Veterans Day Weekend Race Takes Place This Saturday

CINCINNATI – Join DAV (Disabled American Veterans) to honor our nation’s heroes at the DAV 5K in Cincinnati on Saturday, November 9, 2019. The DAV 5K is a run, walk, roll and motorcycle ride presented by DAV to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom and raises awareness of the issues our ill and injured veterans face every day. Funds raised go to DAV, a nonprofit organization that helps over a million veterans in life-changing ways each year. In order for this race to be held, the following streets will close at 8:30 a.m. and remain closed until approximately 12:00 p.m.*:
- Joe Nuxhall Way - closed south of Second Street (closes at 6:00 a.m.)
- Freedom Way - closed between Marian Spencer Way to Joe Nuxhall Way (closes at 6 a.m.)
- Mehring Way - closed between Freeman Avenue and E. Pete Rose Way
- Central Avenue - closed south of Third Street
- W. Pete Rose Way - closed between Central Avenue and Gest Street
- Third Stree t- eastbound closed between Gest Street and Central Avenue
- Clay Wade Bailey Bridge - closed between Third Street and Second Street
- Gest Street - closed south of Third Street
- Linn Street - closed between W Fifth Street and Gest Street
- Elm Street - closed south of Freedom Way
- Johnny Bench Way - closed
- E Pete Rose Way - westbound closed between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way
*Freedom Way, between Walnut Street and Joe Nuxhall Way, will be closed from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the after-event party.
Metro bus service that normally uses any area within the race course will be detoured around the closure. Riders should follow the instructions posted at their respective stops.
