DAV 5K to Take Place on Saturday

CINCINNATI - Join DAV (Disabled American Veterans) to honor our nation’s heroes at the DAV 5K: Promise Run for Vets in Cincinnati on Saturday, November 6, 2021. The DAV 5K is a run, walk, roll and motorcycle ride presented by DAV to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom and raises awareness of the issues our ill and injured veterans face every day. Funds raised go to DAV, a nonprofit organization that helps over a million veterans in life-changing ways each year. In order for this race to be held, the following streets will close on Saturday, November 6 at 8:30 a.m. and remain closed until approximately 12:00 p.m.*:

  • Joe Nuxhall Way - closed south of Second Street (closes at 5:00 a.m. for Start/ Finish Line construction)
  • Mehring Way - closed between Freeman Avenue and E Pete Rose Way
  • Johnny Bench Way - closed
  • Elm Street - closed south of Freedom Way
  • Central Avenue - closed between Third Street and Mehring Way
  • W Pete Rose Way - closed between Gest Street and Central Avenue
  • Third Street - eastbound closed between Gest Street and Central Avenue
  • Gest Street - closed between Third Street and Mehring Way
  • Linn Street - closed between Fifth Street and Gest Street

*Freedom Way, between Rosa Parks Street and Marian Spencer Way, will be closed from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the after-event party.

METRO BUS SERVICE THAT NORMALLY USES THIS AREA WILL BE DETOURED AROUND THE CLOSURE.  RIDERS SHOULD FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS POSTED AT THEIR STOP.
