Brent Spence Maintenance Project Transitions to Phase 3 This Weekend
Aug 04, 2017
CINCINNATI – The Brent Spence Bridge maintenance project will transition to Phase 3 of this weekend, weather permitting. During this time, crews will begin shifting lane closures from the two center lanes to the two western-most lanes.
Below is a detailed breakdown of how the work will affect southbound and northbound traffic.
Southbound
Beginning Saturday, Aug. 5 at approximately 6 a.m., travel on Interstate 71/75 southbound will be reduced to one lane across the Brent Spence Bridge. Two-lane travel will resume no later than 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7. Once two-lane travel resumes, we will be in the Phase 3 traffic pattern.
Northbound
Beginning Monday, Aug. 7 at 9 p.m., periodic overnight lane closures will take place on I-71/75 northbound. Two-lane travel will resume no later than 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8. Drivers wanting to take I-71 north during the nighttime closures should detour across SR 562 (Norwood Lateral) or State Route 126 (Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway) once in Ohio. Once two-lane travel resumes, we will be in the Phase 3 traffic pattern.
During Phase 3, travel will shift to the two eastern-most lanes on both decks of the bridge; the two western-most lanes on both decks will be closed. Drivers should plan ahead and know which lane they need to be in to reach their destinations.
