Downtown Streets to Close for Annual Cyclones 'Frozen' Race Along Riverfront

CINCINNATI – Thousands of local runners will flock to the riverfront Saturday, Feb. 1 for the return of the annual Cincinnati Cyclones Frozen 5K and 10K. In order to accommodate this unique event, several streets will close during the early morning hours on race day and remain closed until around noon that same day.

Close at 6 A.M.

  • Mehring Way - closed between E Pete Rose Way and W Pete Rose Way (Closes at 6 a.m. between Joe Nuxhall Way and Johnny Bench Way to stage the starting line)

Close at 8:30 A.M.

  • E. Pete Rose Way - closed between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way
  • E. Pete Rose Way - eastbound closed between Broadway and Eggleston Avenue
  • Riverside Drive - eastbound closed between Eggleston Avenue and Bains Street
  • W. Pete Rose Way - eastbound closed between Mehring Way and Central Avenue
  • Central Avenue - closed between Third Street and Mehring Way
  • Freedom Way - closed between Elm Street and Joe Nuxhall Way
  • Elm Street - closed south of Second Street
  • Race Street - closed south of Second Street (access maintained to garage)
  • Rosa Parks Street - closed south of Second Street (access maintained to garage)
  • Joe Nuxhall Way - closed south of Second Street
  • Ramp LL - closed
  • Johnny Bench Way - closed

Drivers are reminded to use caution around the event site and encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.

The Cincinnati Cyclones Frozen 5K and 10K is unique winter run takes participants on a course along the Banks of the Ohio River and through Cincinnati’s Transit Center underneath Second Street. The race begins at 9 a.m.
