City Prepares for Forecasted Sunday Snowfall 2/16/25

Department of Public Services (DPS) crews are preparing to respond to the snowfall forecasted to hit the Cincinnati area over the weekend. Per the National Weather Service, snow is forecasted for Sunday before 1 p.m. with accumulations of less than 1 inch possible.

In response to the forecast, DPS crews will begin reporting at 7 a.m. Sunday morning. Heavy rain is anticipated Saturday, which will prevent crews from pretreating the roadways. The rain is expected to transition to snow by Sunday morning. Crews will work 12-hour shifts throughout the duration of the weather event to ensure local roadways remain safe and passable. Weather conditions are variable and DPS will adjust its staffing and operational plans accordingly.

Residents are reminded to exercise caution while driving during winter events. With low temperatures, slick spots are possible in areas prone to black ice – including bridges, tunnels, hills and underpasses.
