Everybody's Treehouse in Mt. Airy Forest Reopens

Everybody’s Treehouse in Mt. Airy Forest, one of the region’s most unique and inclusive park experiences, is once again welcoming visitors to explore, play, and connect with nature in a truly one-of-a-kind setting.  

What sets Everybody’s Treehouse apart is its commitment to inclusion. It was designed to ensure that children and adults of varying abilities can experience the wonder of being “up in the trees.” Whether exploring, or simply enjoying the views, visitors can engage with nature in ways that suit their comfort and interests. 

The Treehouse closed in January 2024 to undergo critical improvements to make sure it remains safe, welcoming, and sustainable for many years to come. Renovation work included replacing key structural timber elements, strengthening and modernizing guardrails, installing a new roof, and cleaning and sealing all wood surfaces. These updates were essential to preserving the integrity of the structure and ensuring a safe experience for every visitor.  

This investment not only addressed the immediate concerns but also allowed the Parks team to fully assess the Treehouse’s long-term structural and aesthetic requirements, ensuring it is ready for future generations to enjoy. 

Because the Treehouse is uniquely integrated with living trees, ongoing care and thoughtful maintenance are essential. Cincinnati Parks coordinated closely on this project with its forestry and natural resources teams to protect surrounding trees and minimize any environmental impacts.  

The reopening of Everybody’s Treehouse returns a truly amazing public space where imagination and nature come together. Cincinnati Parks invites everyone to visit Mt. Airy Forest and explore this unique amenity, where everyone, kids and adults alike, can experience the joy of playing in a treehouse.  

More About the Treehouse 

Suspended among the trees and thoughtfully designed for visitors of all ages and abilities, Everybody’s Treehouse originally opened in 2006 through more than $500,000 in donations and over 4,000 hours of volunteer effort. The treehouse feature and ramps span 1,500 square feet and are connected to living trees. Designed through a collaborative effort that included Cincinnati Parks, the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, the Rotary Club of Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Bengals, and community partners, the Treehouse has long been one of the Cincinnati Parks most beloved destinations, especially for families, school groups, and first-time Mt. Airy Forest visitors.
