More Information:
- Visit the B&I website for more information.
Process:
- Your Request will be assigned to the district inspector for the next business day. The inspector will normally arrange to perform an inspection within 5 business days of receipt of your request. It is important to provide contact information if the inspector must enter your building or rear yard to make an investigation.
- If the inspector identifies a code violation(s) then a Notice of Violation is issued to the property owner to correct the violation within a reasonable time period (normally 30 days unless a serious safety hazard requires correction sooner.) While there may be defects or repairs that are of concern, not all property defects are covered by the codes.
- The inspector will follow-up after the Notice due date has expired and escalate enforcement if necessary. You should request the inspector’s contact information such as phone or e-mail to follow-up on your concerns.
- If no code violations are confirmed, the case will be marked “CLOSED” with notes of the inspection result.
