  • According to Ohio law, each county's board of commissioners appoints a county dog warden and deputies. Hamilton County responds to public safety concerns about stray and dangerous dogs by contracting animal control and shelter services with local nonprofit Cincinnati Animal CARE. You may contact Cincinnati Animal CARE at 513-541-PETS (7387).
  • Reports of lost and found pets are referred to Cincinnati Animal CARE.
  • The Cincinnati Police Department will respond to reports of dangerous or injured animals and may request the assistance of the county dog warden, Cincinnati Animal CARE.
