Fall Fest in Burnet Woods
Please join us at Fall Fest to help celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Burnet Woods! On Saturday, October 12, in the afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, in front of Trailside Nature Center near the lake, there will be a free pumpkin carving and decorating party for kids (big and small), with music, entertainment, educational exhibits, and a food truck. Trailside Nature Center will be open, thanks to Nature Education of Cincinnati Parks. Special guests this year: Raptors Inc will join us with some big birds for you to meet. Many thanks to the Event staff at Cincinnati Parks for their support!
New this year: During the morning of Saturday October 12, you will be able to visit with several Historical Reenactors who will be illustrating the 150th year history of Burnet Woods. Groups of 10-15 visitors, each accompanied by a docent, will start at the Bandstand and take an accessible walking tour to hear from several reenactors located on a trail that will wind through Burnet Woods and finish at Trailside. Along the way, you will learn the stories of some of the characters who were instrumental in creating the Park that we have today. Many thanks to the Cincinnati Parks Foundation and to Preserve Burnet Woods (PBW) for financial support of these free events.
The afternoon pumpkin party remains free and open to the public. The morning historical reenactment walk will also be free, however, in order to accommodate visitors and reenactors, we are asking visitors to sign up ahead of time for timed slots. Sign-ups for the free historical walk will be available on the PBW website in late September. There will also be signs with more event and sign-up information posted in shops on Ludlow Avenue, also at local Cincinnati Public Libraries and Cincinnati Rec Centers.
