Incident Description:

Fire Companies were dispatched for a report of a house on fire. On arrival companies reported heavy smoke showing from the rear of a 2 story single family home, and requested the remainder of the one alarm compliment. Firefighters entered the house to extinguish the fire and conduct searches. The main body of fire was extinguished in less than 30 minutes but companies remained on scene for a couple hours extinguishing pockets of hidden fire in the void spaces. The Red Cross was called to assist eleven displaced occupants. The Fire Investigative Unit was called to the scene to determine a cause. Cause was from an outdoor burn too close to the house. The Cincinnati Fire Department would like to remind citizens that outdoor fires, especially in the dry summer months are dangerous and we recommend not having any form of outdoor burn.
