Incident Description: 

CFD units were dispatched due to the report of a dryer in the basement was on fire at this address. The
residents had safely self-evacuated prior to CFD arrival. Once on scene, Engine 31 reported a working
fire in the basement of a 2-story single-family wood frame residential structure. The fire had extended
up the basement stairs and into the kitchen area of the home. A rapid offensive fire attack was initiated
with a 1-3/4" handline and the fire was quickly knocked down. Primary searches were conducted on all
floors and were found to be all clear. The fire was contained to the 1st floor kitchen and basement area
where the dryer was located. PPV was used to remove the smoke and products of combustion from the
building. There were no civilian nor firefighter injuries at this scene. The Red Cross was notified to
assist 2 adults and 1 child. The Cincinnati Fire Investigation unit was called to the scene. Any further
