Incident Description: 

CFD units were dispatched due to the report of a carboard postal envelope in the mail room of the
Federal Building with a suspicious material on the exterior of the envelope. The area was isolated and
the building access was locked down by federal security members. Once on scene, CFD hazardous
materials certified members from Heavy Rescue 14 went in to investigate and test the material in
question. After their investigation it was determined that the substance was not a hazardous material
and the envelope with its contents were not of a malicious intent. The envelope and it's contents were
safely secured and turned over to FBI employees on scene. The building was then reopened for normal
business.
