CINCINNATI – Construction of the Elberon Avenue retaining wall is progressing on schedule. Crews will begin pouring cast-in-place concrete panels the week of Nov. 18.

Westbound Elberon remains closed until mid-January between Maryland Avenue and Mt. Hope Avenue to accommodate equipment and crews that are installing a retaining wall to stabilize the hillside on the north side of Elberon just east of Mt. Hope.

In addition, the exit ramp from the Sixth Street Expressway to Elberon will be closed for the duration of the project.

Motorists will be detoured onto Warsaw Avenue.

Detour signage will be posted on site.

Access for pedestrians, local residents, police and fire department personnel will be allowed at all times.

The eastbound side of Elberon heading into Downtown remains open with construction underway.

The project includes the construction of a retaining wall nearly 200 feet long and 12 feet high. The retaining wall’s foundation will be composed of drilled piers that extend at least 8 feet into bedrock.
