WB Court Street to Close This Weekend for Utility Work at Kroger Site
Dec 01, 2017
CINCINNATI – Westbound Court Street between Walnut and Main streets will be closed most of this weekend so crews can install underground electric utility ducts at the Kroger Co. construction site.
This stretch of Court Street will be closed tonight from 6:00 to 10:00 but will be reopened overnight. It will be closed again during the day tomorrow, Saturday, Dec., 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Crews will excavate tomorrow and restore the road Sunday.
Detour signage will be posted on site.
The new downtown Kroger store is part of a mixed-use, 18-story tower. The first two floors will house the retail grocery with an eight-story parking garage above it, topped by eight stories of residential apartments.
The site is adjacent to the Hamilton County Administration Building and is bounded by Court Street to the south, Walnut to the west and Central Parkway to the north. Construction began in September and is slated for completion in fall 2019.
Turner Construction is the construction manager. The developer is Cincinnati Center City Development Corp.
