Tusculum Ave & Grand Beech Ln in Mt. Lookout Closing for Two Months

Nov 01, 2021

CINCINNATI – A stretch of Tusculum Avenue to Grand Beech Lane in Mt. Lookout will be closed to through traffic for approximately two months beginning this Thursday, Nov. 4, so contractor crews for the City of Cincinnati Department of Transportation & Engineering may construct a retaining wall.

The closure will be in place between Tusculum Avenue at its intersection with Columbia Parkway and Grand Beech Lane at its intersection with Beechmont Avenue and Linwood Avenue.

In addition, a short stretch of Tusculum Avenue at the construction site will be closed to all traffic between Tuscany Place and the entrance to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) at 1090 Tusculum Ave.

Motorists will be detoured via Columbia Parkway or Beechmont Avenue. Detour signs will be posted on site.

Local access for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles will be allowed at all times.

The 225-foot concrete pier wall will be built as an extension to the west of an existing retaining wall. The new wall is needed to shore up the roadway. The project is expected to be completed by Jan. 4, 2022. The contractor is Scherzinger Drilling Co.

Motorists are encouraged to drive slowly and to use caution in the area.
