Street & Sidewalk Closures at Future FC Cincinnati Stadium Site in Effect
Nov 24, 2018
CINCINNATI – Street and sidewalk closures at the site of FC Cincinnati’s future soccer stadium in the West End now are in effect as demolition of several buildings and other structures gets under way.
Starting Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, Central Avenue is closed between Fugate Alley and Wade Street to make way for the new stadium. Providence Street was closed between Wade and 15th as of Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Motorists heading south on Central Avenue are being detoured via Wade Street. Motorists heading north on Central Avenue are being detoured via 14th.
For safety reasons during demolition, the sidewalk on the west side of Central Parkway, which runs parallel with Central Avenue in this stretch, is closed between Wade and 15th.
Seven buildings and Stargel Stadium, former home field of Cincinnati Public’s Taft IT High School, will be demolished to clear the site.
Construction of FCC’s stadium is expected to begin this winter. Turner Construction is the general contractor.
