Jan 14, 2022
CINCINNATI – A short stretch of Anthony Wayne Avenue between Hartwell Avenue and Kearney Street will be closed to through traffic Monday, Jan. 17, through Friday, Jan. 21, to accommodate crews replacing the deck of the Galbraith Road bridge.
A crane will be stationed just below the bridge on Anthony Wayne to remove an old fascia beam and replace it with a new steel beam.
Through traffic above on the bridge will continue to be allowed via one lane in each direction.
Detour signs will be posted. Local access will be allowed during the closure.
The bridge, which stretches over active railroad tracks, connects Arlington Heights to the east and Hartwell to the west.
The $5.7 million project to replace the bridge deck began in late April 2020 and is scheduled to be completed late this year. It is being paid for with state and county funds.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution when approaching the area.
