Paving Starts Friday on Columbia Parkway from Delta to Beechmont

CINCINNATI - Paving is scheduled to begin on Columbia Parkway (U.S. 50) this Friday, Sept. 13, between Delta and Beechmont avenues, one of the last steps in a $3.4 million street rehabilitation project by the City of Cincinnati’s Department of Transportation & Engineering.

Contractor crews will start at 9:00 a.m. in the far-right curb lane in Columbia Tusculum’s business district and pave eastward to Tusculum Avenue before switching directions and paving the curb lane on the opposite side of the street, moving westbound from Tusculum to Delta.

Through traffic will be reduced to one lane as crews pave. Motorists should expect some congestion and slow traffic while paving is underway between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. To avoid delays, motorists are encouraged to use Kellogg Avenue.

Crews will pave the two center lanes in both directions in the business district Saturday, eastbound, then westbound. They will return to pave between Tusculum and Beechmont early next week, following a similar pattern of working in the far outside lanes Monday and the two center lanes Tuesday.

The project extends approximately two miles between Delta and Beechmont avenues in the neighborhoods of Columbia Tusculum and the East End. Crews will complete the project late next week by striping new traffic lanes once paving is finished.

This rehabilitation project is unrelated to the City’s hillside stabilization project on the far west end of Columbia Parkway from Bains Street to just east of Torrence Parkway. Get updates about the hillside stabilization project at www.cincinnati-oh.gov/columbia-parkway.
