Intersection of Marburg Avenue and Wasson Road Closing Next Week for Paving
Aug 03, 2017
CINCINNATI – The intersection of Marburg Avenue and Wasson Road will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, through 7:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, so crews can repave near the north end of the new bridge under construction on Marburg Avenue.
Crews will be paving about 150 feet of Wasson to the west and 100 feet to the east of the intersection as well as about 50 feet to the north on Marburg.
To accommodate crews and equipment, Wasson Road will be closed at Marburg Square Lane and Marburg Avenue will be closed at Greenhouse Lane.
Local access for residents and business along Marburg and Wasson, including access to the Hyde Park Plaza shopping center, will be available at all times. Signs will be posted on site to help direct motorists.
Through traffic will be detoured via Paxton Avenue.
In addition, Greenhouse Lane will be reduced to one lane of through traffic during daytime working hours, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with alternating two-way traffic maintained by flaggers.
Local access to Greenhouse Lane will only be available via Marburg Avenue.
The new Marburg Avenue Bridge, which connects Oakley and East Hyde Park, is slated to open Sept. 16. Crews will continue restoration and other work after the bridge opens. Construction is scheduled to be fully complete by Oct. 31.
The bridge replaces its predecessor at the same location. It will accommodate two-way traffic and include a left turn lane onto Wasson Road.
The project costs $2.1 million. It is being paid for with state and federal grants.
