Construction-Related Road Closures and Lane Restrictions

The following lists road closures and lane restrictions in Downtown Cincinnati, Over-the-Rhine and The Banks during the week of Sept. 10, 2018.

DOWNTOWN

I-71 between Lytle Tunnel and Mount Adams Pedestrian Bridge: Periodic overnight lane and ramp closures may take place through fall 2018 as crews finish last parts of the rehab projects for the Lytle Tunnel and interstate bridge decks.

CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

Third Street between Main and Walnut: Closed to all traffic for crane lift. Begins 6:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 until 6:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17.  Detour north at Main, west on Fourth Street, south on Walnut and east on Third again.
 

Fourth and Main: The sidewalk and curb lane adjacent to the Federal Reserve Bank building are closed until late November for streetscape upgrades.

Fiber Optic Conduit  Installation: Expect lane closures this week on the following street as crews continue trench excavation and restoration:

  • Sixth Street between Race and Central Avenue
  • Third Street at intersection of Central Avenue

Fifth Street at Walnut: Lane closure to mid block on Walnut south of Fifth for demolition at site of new hotel.

Elm and Race Streets between Fourth and Fifth Streets: Curb lane and sidewalk along Elm Street on the other side of the demolition site remains closed.

Walnut between Eighth and Ninth and West Half of Eighth Between Main and Walnut: Curb lane restrictions for streetscape and sidewalk improvements. 

Kroger Store Construction: Curb lane and sidewalk closed around construction site through September 2019. Includes:

  • East side of Walnut between Court and Central Pkwy
  • South side of Central Pkwy, west half of block between Walnut and Main
  • North side of Court, west half of block between Walnut and Main


Fourth Street at Sycamore: Sidewalk closed for renovations to building at Eighth E. Fourth St.

Sycamore between Fourth and Fifth: Daily lane restrictions for building renovation

LYTLE PARK

Lytle Street between Pike Street and West Terminus: Closed for repairs to Lytle Tunnel. The east half of Lytle Park (above the tunnel) also is closed during the repairs and reconstruction.

OVER-THE-RHINE

Duke Energy Electric Upgrade Project: Charles Street closed between Central Avenue and Plum Street until mid December 2018. Curb lane closed on Central Avenue. Local traffic allowed.

ntermittent lane restrictions through fall 2018 at the following location

Greater Cincinnati Water Works Main Replacement: Intermittent lane restrictions through fall 2018 at the following locations:
 

  • Clay Street between Central Parkway and Liberty Street
  • Thirteenth between Race and Main
  • Fourteenth between Vine and Main Street
  • Main Street between Orchard and Liberty Street 


Plum Street between Central Parkway and Ezzard Charles: Lane restrictions for utility work.

Elm Street between 14th and Odeon: Daily lane and sidewalk restrictions for Duke Energy pole replacement.


15th Street between Vine and Republic: Sidewalk closed on southwest corner for 15th + V construction project.
