What is Hand Up?
The Hand Up Initiative is a mix of job readiness and job training programs designed to help the long-term under or unemployed individuals transition to employment and to self-sufficiency. By teaching and equipping Hand Up participants with essential skills to operate in the workforce, our Hand Up partners are helping countless Cincinnatians lay the building blocks to long-term employment.
Who can participate?
All of our Hand Up Initiative partners work in all City neighborhoods, however, all or portions of the neighborhoods listed below make up the Hand Up Target Area:
- Avondale, Clifton Heights, University Heights, Fairview (CUF), College Hill, Corryville, Evanston, Lower Price Hill, Madisonville, Millvale, Over-the-Rhine, South Cumminsville, Walnut Hills, West End, Queensgate
If you live in any of the neighborhoods above, you may be eligible to enroll in the program through one of our partners. Eligibility is limited to individuals with an adjusted income (not gross) at 80% of the Area Median Income or below. Please consult the chart below to see if you may qualify:
