Fall is in the air…! Join us each and every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming. All free – and FUN! All programs either meet or take place at the Trailside Nature Center.

October 7th – Meet the Nature Center Animals

Visit Trailside Nature Center and meet our resident “Nature Ambassadors”, Toad and Turtle!  We’ll learn about their habitats, behaviors – and, watch them enjoy a snack.

October 14th – Fossils

Join a Naturalist for a “creek” walk and fossil hunt in Beautiful Burnet Woods.  Learn about our world famous Ordovician fossils from 450 million years ago.  A great opportunity for your young paleontologist to start their first fossil collection!

October 21st – Fall Fest: (1:00 – 6:00 PM)

Burnet Woods Park Advisory Council invites you to an afternoon pumpkin carving and decorating event including live music, games, nature education and exhibits, face painting, a magician, and a food truck. It’s a family-friendly, and all-inclusive event, as we celebrate fall and all it has to offer

October 28th – Camouflage

From sticks to leaves, bird droppings and more – animals are wearing some of the most outrageous costumes out there.  Get in the Halloween Spirit as we examine the wild and weird world of animal camouflage.  Fun activities demonstrate their ability to win the game every time in natures hide and seek.
