Fall is in the air…! Join us each and every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming. All free – and FUN!
All programs either meet, or take place at the Trailside Nature Center. No registration required.
September
All programs are from 1-2 pm and meet at Trailside Nature Center unless stated otherwise.
September 2nd – Mammal Mania
Visit Trailside Nature Center for a lively presentation on our local mammals. We’ll learn what habitats to find them in, the role they play in nature and their status in Burnet Woods.
September 9th – Lake Life
Take a guided hike with a Park Board Naturalist as we explore the Burnet Woods Lake. Filled with fish, turtles, frogs and more – this walk will be packed with local wildlife.
September 16th – Birds!
Bring your fledglings out for some introductory birding. We’ll learn 10 local birds at the nature center – then it’s out into the wilds to see them in action!
September 23rd - International Children’s Day (11:00 am – 4:00 pm)
Celebrate the children of the world and the culture and heritage of our neighbors and friends from around the globe. Festivities will include a parade, food trucks, cultural entertainment, and more!
September 30th – Story Time and a Craft
Bring you wild ones to the Trailside Nature Center for story time. We will be reading Rainbow Fish – learning about the fish that life in Burnet Woods Lake, and making a fun take home craft!
