Spring is finally here! Join us every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming.  All free – and FUN!

All programs are from 1-2 pm and meet at Trailside Nature Center.

April 1st – Dino’s
Do you love dinosaurs? Sure you do!  (Who doesn’t love dinosaurs… everyone loves dinosaurs)!  If so, come over to the Trailside Nature Center to discuss all things dinosaurs, play some dinosaur games and make a dinosaur craft!

April 8th – Story-time + Craft
Visit the nature library in Trailside Nature Center for story time! We will be reading the Lorax by Dr. Seuss and talking about the importance of trees. After the story, we will make a Lorax themed craft and, if the weather permits, we will take a brief hike around the lake!

April 15th – Wildflower Walk (10:30am - noon)
Burnet Woods is home to a wonderful variety of spring wildflowers.  With the recent volunteer led efforts to remove the invasive honeysuckle from the park – we are excited to see what more may be in bloom.  From their early folklore to some of their more interesting reproductive strategies, we’ll learn about the fascinating world of these living jewels.  Meet in front of the Trailside Nature Center.

April 22nd – Spring Fest (10:00am - 2:00pm)
Come celebrate Spring at Spring Fest in Burnet Woods. Learn how Parks and Preserves provide vital habitat for local wildlife and meet our Eastern Box Turtle and American Toad.  Spring Fest activities sponsored by UC Students for Burnet Woods.

April 29th – Garden Craft
Water is vital to the survival of any organism on Earth. Join us in making a butterfly water dish for your garden. The water dish will provide butterfly visitors with a place to rest up and grab a drink. Decorative cocktail umbrellas, not included!
